Where the history of my land
Meets a spot of green surrounded by a shade of hazel
There, a faun plays with the air,
The magic of the mountain,
He told me that he tastes
The sweet and sour taste
Of the rainy clouds a-coming
And he told me not to be too sad when the storm comes.
Life is frail, it’s a creature to protect, he said,
In your hands,
Like a pair of wings made out of dreams.
He, he was a butterfly raiser,
And he’s running with his hair in the wings
To finally be back home,
Yeah he, he was a butterfly raiser,
And we’re running through the fields,
Through the centuries and the years.
No, no matter all the pain,
The struggle deep inside
And people saying you can’t make it coz,
One day you’ll spread your wings
And then you’ll fly away.
Life is frail, it’s a creature to protect, he said,
In your hands,
Like a pair of wings made out of dreams.
He, he was a butterfly raiser,
And he’s running with his hair in the wings
To finally be back home,
Yeah he, he was a butterfly raiser,
And we’re running through the fields,
Through the centuries and the years.
(Butterfly raiser)
He, he was a butterfly raiser,
And he’s running with his hair in the wings
To finally be back home,
Yeah he, he was a butterfly raiser,
And we’re running through the fields,
Through the centuries and the years.

It's a great blend of different metal genres and styles, with great solos in basically every song, just that touch of oriental influences that feel natural but not artificial and above all else, performed by the beautiful, haunting voice of Jelena Dobric, who uses it in a way that is not the typical operatic approach as we are used to from other female-fronted bands wormys_queue

I bought the album on vinyl basically just to have the EP on physical format, I'll be honest.
This is not to say the album is bad (it is absolutely amazing) but the EP blew me away and is honestly one of the best and most versatile albums I've listened to in a while and the vocals are just insanely good.
If you like ExLibris you'll love this band too, no doubt thebluemeanie

#3 2023: "XANDRIA reborn", concerning the line-up. In terms of music it is what you expect from one of the leading symphonic metal bands. 75 minutes(!) of bombastic, dramatic, well arranged and varied female fronted metal. Each song on this long player is catchy, full of pathos and a hit, Also the new singer makes a great job and brings soul into the heavy soundscapes. A must have release for fans of this genre. Not original, but better than all Nightwash releases since "Dark Passion Play"! H.L.
